In the process of the preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, India and Australia face-off in a warm-up match at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Wednesday, 20th October.

India won their first warm-up fixture against England by seven wickets. The batters performed well in the game. However, the bowlers were on the expensive side, which is something they would like to correct this time around. Australia also won their first warm-up match against New Zealand. It was a close affair as they got over the line with three wickets left chasing 159.

In the previous edition of the tournament, India had a good run as they made it to the semi-finals. Although, their progress was halted by a defeat to defending champions West Indies. Australia, meanwhile, finished third in the Super 10 stage (Group 2).

India kick-start their campaign this year against arch-rivals Pakistan. They will then play New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two qualifying teams in the Super 12. Australia, along with South Africa, starts the Super12 proceedings on Saturday. England, West Indies, and two qualifying teams are Australia's remaining opponents in the main event.

Coming into this game, both sides will look to rotate a few players and work out their combinations. It will be yet another opportunity to gain some important practice going into the Super12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. While India has won the showpiece T20 tournament once, Australia is yet to win a T20 World Cup title.
